Step 1: Consultation
  • Wallpaper installation through an Interior Designer:

Many wallpaper projects require the expertise of a professional installer. Often, the manufacturer, distributor, and interior designers will document their recommendations for installation.

1. It starts with a consultation between Designer and Client for wallpaper selection. Designer would take the measurements and assess wall conditions. (Wallpaper installer can help with that)

2. After that, the consultation between Designer and Installer takes place. Installer estimates the material amount and installation cost.

3. Lastly, the designer retains the Installer and schedules a tentative installation date.

  • Wallpaper installation directly with a client:

1. Client contacts Installer and provides wall measurements and wall covering specifications directly to the Installer along with photos of the walls. If the area is large or difficult to measure, the installer would offer an on-site estimate.

Note: Usually the installers have a wide selection of wallpapers available for sale. They can also get the wallpapers from showrooms that are not open to the public. Clients are welcome to take advantage of this service.

2. Next, the Installer provides an estimate for the amount or wall covering required for the job and a cost estimate for materials and labor.

3. Lastly, the client retains the Installer and a date for installation.
Our estimates are based on the dimensions of the walls and their current conditions. Another key factor is the difficulty of installation, as well as the type of product to be used. Consultation process may vary depending on whether the project is curated by designer or client, but the key aspects remain the same.
Step 2: PREPARATION
1. Documentation: certain buildings may require additional insurance and licenses provided to HOA or any other parties involved. It is the client's responsibility to check the requirements and inform the installer about them.

Note: Client has a right to demand the installer to bring the tools discreetly. It needs to be discussed with the installer prior to a scheduled date

2. Wall preparation considerations: installer confirms with the client access to water on site, light and electricity, application of primer sealer and drying time. Wall repair appointments are scheduled if required.

Note: In rare cases, wall preparation is not needed at all.

3. Wallpaper preparation: it is common for wallpaper vendors to make mistakes when shipping/delivering an order. The installer will ask the client to check the number of rolls they received along with the pattern of the wallpaper received vs. ordered.

4. Safety: it is important for the client to inform the installer about any possible safety issues. It includes, but is not limited to pets or small children on site, unsecured construction materials, etc.
At this phase of the project, the wallpapers are ordered and the job is scheduled with an installer. Preparation often involves things like access, safety, engineering the space for optimal access to the walls and pattern symmetry, due diligence for manufacturer recommended installation techniques and particular adhesive requirements, appropriate tools and equipment.
1. Area preparation: it is expected from the client to move furniture out of the way of obstruction ahead of time. As a part of the service, the installer un-/reinstalls wall fixtures, light switches and outlet plates. Also, the specialist covers floors and surrounding objects with plastic/paper protection.

2. Wall preparation: all the walls need to be smoothed and primed prior installation. Wall prep is the most important step to achieve a picture perfect wall.

Note: Although it is possible to install wallpapers on a textured wall, we strongly recommend avoiding it. The texture is likely to show through the wallpaper surface and seams may be compromised, too.

3. Wallpaper installation: clients may expect Cleanliness, efficiency and respect for their space. There may be noise, but not a typical construction noise. Please note that occasionally some of the products may have an odor which the installer would forewarn about, but normally all the materials are odor free and not toxic.
Step 3: EXECUTION
This is when the magic happens. We prepare the materials; prime the walls; cover the floors, and proceed with the installation. Unlike many wallpaper installers, we employ a highly structured wallpaper install process. We strictly adhere to our traditional method that has proven itself for over a decade and provides picture perfect results every time.
